Re: Fus 4194502 David hughes
Hi Dai,
Happy New Year mate.
He doesn't appear on the nominal roll of JNCO's, SNCO's and Officers who landed at Normandy in June 1944. Although his number would indicate he was part of that group. As an example LCpl Griffiths 4194537 landed with the 6th Bn. So its a fair guess he was a fusilier at that point.(unless the numbering system is totally random!!)
Have you applied for his service record Dai? I'm assuming he is a family member, so it should be easy enough to achieve. Once you have that we can track his active service.
Cheers
Al

Re: Fus 4194502 David hughes
I found this on an Australian website of ex-pats from Angelsey
DvH270@aol.com - David Hughes was one of the whalers on Angelsey. He left holyhead in Augest 1946 and now lives in Pelsall West Midlands. His photo is in the Cae Mwd photo of 6th Battion Royal Welch. I was Fusiler David Hughes 4194502.
