    Comrades Reunion 2006

Can I remind all members of the Forum that the Annual Comrades Reunion will take place on the weekend 1-3 Sept 2006 at Wrexham.

If you've served with the regiment and never attended, come along, pull up a sandbag and swing the lantern. It really is an excellent weekend, and a great way of catching up with your old friends. Friday is normally "Full Disco Order" meeting up about 1900hrs in the Wynnstay for those who can still shuffle, or there is also great entertainment laid on at the barracks.

Saturday daytime is centered around the barracks, starting off early doors with the Standard Bearers Competition, followed by other activities, including the Comrades AGM in the early afternoon. Then a "Beating The Retreat" takes place at the Guildhall at 1800hrs. Comrades then have the option of attending a dinner at the Memorial Hall( Pre Book your seat through the Association Secretary), or continuing the motion at the Wrexham nightspots or the barracks.

If your looking for accomodation, there are now two major hotels in the town. The Wynnstay Hotel in the town centre or the newly opened Ramada Plaza (about 6 mins walk from the football ground, near the B & Q roundabout).

Before you book, speak to the Comrades Association Secretary; Maj Arthur Ellingham, just in case he has managed to secure any discounted deals.

Any Questions? Contact The Comrades Association Secretary at RHQ or email them through this site(Membername: RWFCOMRADES)

    See you there

    Re: Comrades Reunion 2006

Although we appear to have numerous photographs of the Comrades Association Reunion 2006, [we could do with some more, and with names please], we haven’t had any real feedback of what it was like to be there. Perhaps some of you that were there could let us know:

    • Who was there? Does anyone know who the eldest member; who was the youngest member?
    • Where did the majority of you congregate prior to convening in High Town Barracks on Saturday?
    • What was the Reunion Dinner like? Paint a picture for us - give us a feeling of what it was like to be there!
    • Report any amusing occurrences or humorous anecdotes; I can’t believe that there weren’t any at all!
    • Overall, what was it like: Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair?

    Hi all,
Week end very good overall, beer in barracks not very good but drinkable,
the dinner as always was excellant.
With more groups meeting outside did not mix as much as I would have liked but thats my fault.
    Regards,
    Joe.
