    Weston's warriors - help

I've had a request to try and obtain a copy of Simon Weston's programme "Weston's Warriors". In particular the episode that covered the 53rd Div in WW2 at the Battle of Everecy. If anyone called assist I would be really grateful.

    Thanks

    Al

Al, do you know when it was first aired?

Apparently, the episode <Q>Simon Weston joins a group of six Welsh Fusilier veterans as they retrace the steps of the 53rd Welsh Division during the liberation of Europe, from the 1944 June landing in Normandy to the surrender of Hamburg on 4th May 1945</Q> isn't on the air any time soon. However, I did find this - this channel is on SKy as far as I know:

    <TABLE class="indented nextshowing" cellSpacing=0 summary="" cellPadding=3><TBODY><TR><TD>D-Day with Simon Weston</TD><TD>Movies4Men 2</TD><TD>July 25th - 2:50am</TD><TD colSpan=2></TD><TD> </TD></TR><TR><TD>D-Day with Simon Weston</TD><TD>Movies4Men 2</TD><TD>July 27th - 2:55am</TD><TD colSpan=2></TD><TD> </TD></TR><TR><TD>D-Day with Simon Weston</TD><TD>Movies4Men 2</TD><TD>August 16th - 2:55am</TD><TD colSpan=2></TD><TD> </TD></TR><TR><TD>D-Day with Simon Weston</TD><TD>Movies4Men 2</TD><TD>August 18th - 2:50am</TD><TD colSpan=2></TD><TD> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

    Hello Bob,
I have a faint recollection that a member of the Llanelli branch took part in this documentary. May be a good idea to try phoning David Lawrence his number is in the diary. Another good reason to try Llanelli is they have a good RWF museum in their club, so I reckon if any one can help it wiil be them.
    Regards Don

Do you mean "D-Day with Simon Weston", Al?

"To commemorate Remembrance Sunday, Movies 2 Men 2 broadcast this 1996 documentary narrated by former Falklands veteran, turned broadcaster, Simon Weston which looks at the 1944 D-Day landings in Normandy and then follows the campaign using original footage and interpretations of Allied and Axis forces as viewed at the time. Material from both sides was subjected to rigorous censorship and shown for maximum propaganda effect to cinema audiences. Because of this sometimes the information was not quite as accurate as it could have been. With 50 years of hindsight we now have a different perspective on some of the described events."

If so, I have a copy on my hard disc.

I was the fellow who wondered if anyone had a copy of this! Many thanks Al. I spoke to the guys who store all Welsh tv shows and they destroyed their copy burning it to DVD for me (and it was a one month 'rental' of £15 as well!) Any chance I could borrow a copy of it?

I can put it on CD as an .avi file which you can watch on the computer. If that's what you want, PM me with your address. Alternatively I can send it through Skype which saves the postage stamp.
