Lt Paul M Courtney
I have been asked to post the following message
Dear All,
I hope that you can help me. I am trying to trace details of a Lt Paul M Courtney who was commissioned into 1RWF in Dec 1973 and served with the battalion in Belize and N. Ireland. He then left the British Army in 1976 and enlisted in the Rhodesian Light Infantry (1RLI) and was killed in action on 24 Dec 1977.
The RLI association is planning a 50th commemoration of the founding of the RLI this year, and are seeking to update their records, in particular their Roll of Honour details. They are also seeking to locate next of kin to invite them to attend their commemorations. I have just been roped in as a willing accomplice!
If you could provide any information or point me in the right direction I would be very greatful. A regimental number would probably allow me to approach the SPVA as a starter to identifying next of kin.
Regards
Callum
