Re: 1R.Welsh KIA -Sky News
Unfortunately, this is confirmed by the BBC:A British soldier from 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh died as a result of a gunshot wound in southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence said. The soldier died on Wednesday and next of kin have been informed. He was on foot patrol when he was killed in an exchange of fire with insurgents near Showal, in the Nad-e-Ali District of Helmand Province.
Lieutenant Colonel David Wakefield, spokesman for Task Force Helmand said: "He died doing his duty and he will be deeply missed by us, his comrades, but his indomitable courage in the face of the enemy will be remembered."

All our thought go out to this brave soldier who has payed the ultimate price with his life doing a job that he believed in and loved so much, so near to the end of his tour. Our thoughts are also with his immediate family and his partner Kelly (AGC) with so much to live for and taken so quick from us all he will be remembered now and forever Rest in Peace.
