Thanks to those that let me know what their intentions are with regard to the 2010 reunion. Please note, you do need to complete the 2010 Booking Form. LOFs Reunion 2010

I will be publishing the LOFs Newsletter tomorrow, which has a Booking Form and further details of the reunion in it. I have also created an online Booking Form, which can be found in the sidebar menu on the left. This can be submitted by email but you will need to send your cheques to the new Secretary, Martin Hargraves. His details are on the form.

Once again we are looking for a volunteer to make the speech to the Ladies at the Reunion Dinner.

Such speeches are usually light-hearted but, nonetheless, cannot be patronising in any way. The message in the toast is that the ladies are wonderful in who they around what they do.

Please let me know if you would be willing to volunteer. I can provide you with some short example speeches if you want.

    Re: 41st Annual Reunion & Dinner 2010

At the moment the response has been poor!

Although we would like ALL our members to attend the reunion, we know that's not possible. However, we would like to see the majority of you there.

Your participation will determine the success of this reunion. If you're at all hesitant to attend because you've lost touch with friends and
contemporaries over the years: Please reconsider! Think about all the friends you might see if you come to the Reunion and about those who would miss you if you don't attend.

    Re: 41st Annual Reunion & Dinner 2010

The numbers attending the reunion are slowly rising, thank-you! But we still need more!

We are hoping that the majority of you will attend as we need to have a minimum of 80 people to cover the costs of the dinner with complementary wine and port. At the moment we are approximately 40 members short!

For the second time we have booked with the same hotel in Cardiff, the Novotel. At the moment we have enough rooms held for some 50 guests; however the hotel will release these rooms at the end of Feb/early Mar, so you are advised to book in as early as possible. Deposits are not required but credit/debit card details must be supplied after you have made your booking with Martin Hargraves. Payment for accommodation, room service, telephone calls etc must be settled before your departure from the hotel.

    RAFFLE
Traditionally we hold a raffle during our reunion weekend. The prizes are graciously donated by our members; the proceeds help us with admin and running costs. The donation of raffle prizes is purely voluntary, so if you find you have any unwanted Christmas presents or items about the house, please bring them in for the raffle. Our Star prize will be the cost of one night's accommodation at the Novotel. John Lewis 04 and Shaun McCormack are our supremo's i/c raffle!

We have tried to organise this weekend to suit everyone's needs, so it can be taken as a short or long weekend break. Some of you may not want to book in to the hotel, but stay in local alternative lodgings or with relatives or friends in the area. Whatever your requirements the whole idea of this reunion is to be flexible, relaxed and to have an easy going weekend spent in the company of old (and not so old!) acquaintances.

In closing the committee would like to thank all our active members and emphasize that if it were not for them and their continued support, there would be no League of Friends' reunions. Your continuing support makes these reunion weekends such a pleasure to organise and to attend ourselves.
