Re: Did Mark Hughes deserve to be sacked?
It comes with the territory I'm afraid. If the team does not perform, then the top person gets the boot. I'm sure MH new it was on the cards unless the team got good results and the reality of it is...he (and the team) failed. Change is the only option left.

Re: Did Mark Hughes deserve to be sacked?
Hi Guys and Girls
I'm sorry but your arguements don't add up!
Man City are 6th in the league only lost twice this season. Yes perhaps too many draws but they're difficult to beat, and hey, Sparky has got them into the League Cup semi's for the first time in 28yrs.
Bottom line!
New owners wanted their man. Sparky was not that person so any excuse was used to get rid of him.
As I said in my original post. These people have not got the football club in their blood it's just a power trip and I'm afraid football throughout the world will be the worst when you see this type of cheque book management being allowed in the game.
Has nobody in Football in the UK learnt the lesson of what happened to Leeds Utd and others years ago. All it takes is for these bank rollers to walk away and the clubs are in the mire!

Nice 1 Jeff. Bottom line he was not up to managing the richest club in the world. He had some success at Blackburn but won nothing. He had some success with Wales but again never qualified for anything. The owners of football clubs have the right to replace the manager if they so wish.

Re: Did Mark Hughes deserve to be sacked?
As an Evertonian I have no particular feelings about the Sacking of Mark Hughes, yes he did play for us at one time but that was after he was any good as a player.
As a manager, I have to look at what he has done - and anyone that paid £20odd million for Joleon Lescott has to be suspect. I can only think that he was still showing his allegiance to Everton when he persuaded those Arabs to part with their oily money.
So in a way I am sorry to see him go as he proved to be no competition to David Moyes's shrewdness and certainly not in his league as a coach.!! BG.

Nice 1 Bwlchgafr, I too am an Evertonian and must agree completely, wait out now for those uneducated that will point to the fact were only a few points from the drop zone, but obviously these will be from people who dont know the facts so will certainly be ignored by this C/S.

Re: Did Mark Hughes deserve to be sacked?
I hate to see any man lose his job particularly just before Christmas. Money aside (and he has plenty) the feeling of being unwanted or a failure is hard for any man. Think on, there by the grace of God go you or I. Seasons greetings to you all.
If I can help somebody as I pass along, my living will not be in vain.
