Did Mark Hughes deserve to be sacked?
Manchester City have won just one match in their last 10 Premier League outings despite spending over £170m on transfers this year.
Was it right to give Mark Hughes his P45?

Re: Did Mark Hughes deserve to be sacked?
Before I rant on I'm not a Man City supporter infact I'm a Liverpool fan and have been since 1969 when a young man left Cardiff City for the then world record tranfer fee of £111,000 (John Toshack).
I digress.
Mark Hughes was not given the time to gell this group of players into a team that could challenge the so called Super4 in the Premiership.
Hey the metal of the man was Man City are in 6th place today, In the semi-final of the League Cup for the first time in 28 years and have already beaten Man Utd and Chelsea this season.
What more do these business men want?
I use the word businessmen advisidly. These men aren't football people they are only there as part of their power trip
Mark Hughes got a non-sexy club like Blackburn to great heights with little or no money. 18 months is a drop in the ocean timewise when building a team so in my considered opinion he's been shafted good and proper by gutless people who don't have that football club running in their veins.
He's to good a coach and manager to be lost to the game for too long.
Let's hope he can show what he can do and give to football very soon!

Not being a soccer fan as such I think that the money being paid to so called soccer stars and their managers and so called agents is disgusting.
Most soccer clubs are up their eye balls in dept, if that was Mr Average his home and all his passessions would go down the tupes as a result, in answer to the original question Mark Hughes chose to be a soccer player/manager and I dont think he will be too worried about getting fired but his pride may well be very hurt.
Happy Christmas to all
Joe.
PS. What do soccer agents do?.

Sorry to break this to you but football is a billion pound industry and like it or not players and managers are paid well and deservedly so, and with that said I welcome comments saying they dont. Firstly top clubs can expect over 30 thousand fans each week each paying 20 quid plus so the maths are quite simple. Should Mark Hughes of Ruabon fame have been sacked? Yes big time, and any one who questions the decision to get rid of him either knows nothing about football as smokeyjoe confirms or is a lunatic. results count simple as. I think there are too many rugby fans who compare both sports to footballs detriment here so maybe thats it. Happy xmas people.

Re: Did Mark Hughes deserve to be sacked?
I agree with the points Jase made, but in his reply he mentions that results count, well arent their teams in the league worse off then City, have no chance of winning a thing,no chance of a top 4 finish(where the big money to earn is),and are more than likely will be challenging for relegation, surely if as he says Mark Hughes wasnt up to the job then surely Benitiz(**** at spaninsh in school) should have gone months ago, that is a case of Rome burns while Nero Fiddled,so to add if a top 6 position and a place in the Carling cup is classed as failure those other managers must be managing from the trenches with there steel hats on,dont panic sir comes to mind
everyday i wake up i thank the lord i,m welsh

Well said Keith. I am a United supporter and although we hate City (a number of reasons why) they are way out of order for sacking 'Sparky'.
I agree that there are managers in the Premiership that have basically failed and are still in their job, even after two season, to name a couple, Phil Brown at Hull and Zola at West Ham.
What makes me even annoyed is that 'Sparky' put in his own money to buy Bellamy.
