85th REUNION AND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HIGHTOWN BARRACKS, WREXHAM 4th to 6th SEPTEMBER 2009
The Annual General Meeting and Reunion for 2009 will take place on the above dates in Hightown Barracks Wrexham, by kind permission of Lt Col MJ Purnell, Commanding Officer 101 FS Bn Reme (V).
PROGRAMME
Friday 4th September 2009
Association Golf Competition Mile End, Oswestry. (Details to follow). Evening: Officers Dinner Rossett Hall
Saturday 5th September 2009
Shooting Competition: will start at 0930hrs. (Firers must register by 0915hrs).
Standard Bearers Competition: by popular demand the Standard Bearers Competition will once again take place – chief judge Mr Phil Brain, aided by Mr Benny Ball.
Mayors Reception: 1000hrs in the Guildhall, 3 members per Branch to attend, please.
1200hrs: Annual General Meeting, Main Hall. 1300hrs: Lunch, followed immediately by Reunion Draw, first prize £500. 1800hrs: Band of the Royal Welsh, Beat Retreat outside Mayor’s Parlour. 1900hrs: Reunion Dinner, please be seated for 1845hrs. Please collect your ticket for the £50 free draw when you surrender your dinner ticket.
Please remain seated at the end of the dinner for the DRUMS DISPLAY.
NO OWN DRINKS ARE TO BE TAKEN INTO THE MEMORIAL HALL!
Annual General Meeting – Agenda
Welcoming address by our Chairman. Opening address by our President. Approval of the 2008 minutes. Any matters arising from these minutes. Chairman’s report. Auditors report by representative of Hacker Young, our Accountants. Matters arising from the report.
At the conclusion of the AGM the President will present those selected with the award of the Comrades Medal for 2009.
Consider proposals if applicable, any Individual who may wish to speak to the meeting is to inform the Association Secretary in writing 14 days before the date of the meeting of their intention to speak at the meeting.
Reunion Costs 2009
The cost to individuals for this year’s Reunion tickets is as follows:
Annual Reunion Dinner = £15.00 Lunch Sat or Sun per meal = £ 5.00 Ladies as above, £5.00 per lunch.
Sunday 6th September 2009
1030hrs Act of Remembrance Royal Welch Fusiliers War Memorial
Please be at the Memorial Hall for 1015hrs, as many Branch Standard Bearers as possible. Buses will be provided as normal to convey people to and from the parade. Format of the parade as normal with march past of the Mayor of Wrexham after the Church service. The Corps of Drums will lead the parade to Church.
Passes: Individual members who require passes for the weekend, would you please state your requirements on your proforma, which is attached to this post
Payments: Please include your cheque for full payment for your tickets. Tickets will not be sent until full payment has been received.
Accommodation Hightown Barracks I am very sorry to have to inform you that, owing to the complete renovation of the Keep, I am unable to offer you accommodation in Hightown Barracks
