RWF Agra India 1899-1907
My Great Uncle, Edwin Tonks, joined the Police force in 1907. His records show that he was discharged from the 2nd Royal Welsh Fusiliers on the 4th March 1907. He was in the Army for 8 years and 40 days and his last post was Agra India. He was in the Army reserve until 23rd January 1911.
Can anyone give me any information on the 2nd RWF at this time and particulary their duties in Agra.
Regards Bob Tonks

Re: RWF Agra India 1899-1907
Frank Richards, DCM MM, wrote a book "Old Soldier Sahib" about his time in India with the 2nd RWF, 1903-1907. That will give a very good insight in the battalions duties at this time. I'll try to fill in more later if no one else beats me to it.
Kind regards,
Lars
