Michael died in 48. So the Sgt pictured would have joined in the very early 1930's. Bearing in mind this is a 1st Bn pic, it's quite possible the guy has Dunkirk tucked under his belt. Bone question...but with regards to the 1st and 2nd Bn, is there any difference in the Far East medals they were awarded(I think Donbaik and Kohima were India)? Would both have received the Burma Star.
