Cpls Mess
The PMC of the Cpl Mess (WOII Mark Mathias) has made a request through myself if anybody on the forum has any memrobilia relaiting to the Mess that they would like to donate.
This is because the Mess is starting to to establish itself in the Dale bks after a long brake and the property it currently owns is looking a little worse for ware.
I now that a lot of the members of the forum were members of the Mess at some time or other so if anybody would like to donate please PM me and i will send an address to send to, or arrange pick up.
Many thanks on behalf of the Cpls Mess

Re: Cpls Mess
Just out of curiosity!! Why is the PMC a WO’s and Sgt’s Mess Member. Back in the day I’m sure it was one of the senior Cpl’s who was PMC, In fact I think Tim Marshall was PMC when I was PEC.

Re: Cpls Mess
I received a phone call from an unknown Cpl representing the Cpls’ Mess on Monday pm. This phone call was asking for info on Bridgend's RV points and timings of our Armistice Parade. It appears that a detachment of the 1st were in a position to attend our Armistice parade.
As I am going on the French Truce trip I had delegated the wreath laying, and the booze- up that normally follows, to Mr Mal Fry. Therefore, I asked this Cpl to phone Mr Mal Fry. Ten minutes later my phone rang again, it was the same Cpl. I asked again if he had Mr Fry's phone number; he confirmed he did have and promised to phone him. I phoned Mr Fry an hour or so later and he had not had a phone call from the 1st. I phoned again at about 1900 hrs today and Mal Fry had still not heard from anyone.
So, to clear up any ambiguity, the details of our Armistice Day Parade in Bridgend are set out below. These are, as far as I am aware, accurate at the time of posting. I must apologise as Branch Sec for any misunderstanding and wish to inform all members of the 1st, regardless of numbers, that they are most welcome and it will be a pleasure to join them on parade and a drink after. On the plus side it will not hurt the 1st in relation to a PA exercise and help with recruiting and also to clear up the new style and title of the 1st in relation to the 2nd as this is in a state of maximum confusion.
Details
We have two main RV points - the main one is the Bridgend United Services Club at 1 Tondu Road, which is on the bend of the main road leading to Tesco's. The other is at the War Memorial in the town centre. If anyone has any problems any of our local people will be able to help with directions.
As you well know the main time is 1100 hrs. I would therefore suggest you arrive at either RV point at approx 1000hrs or 1015 at the latest.
Once again, I am sorry about the lack of communication and did not mean to offend anyone. All are welcome and, as a branch, we would be most pleased to see you.
I apologise most profusely over this error. As the Branch Sec all I can add is "MEA CULPA MEA MAXIMA CULPA,
Regards
RBD aka Don

The PMC and other committee members are still Cpls' Mess members. A 'Cpls' Mess Supervising Warrant Officer' was introduced by RSM Butts or Kent and is not uncommon in most units.
