Pass Out Parade - ITC Catterick 17 October 08

On Friday 17 October 08, a Pass Out Parade took place at ITC Catterick.

15 Soldiers passed out into the Regiment.

6 Soldiers to 1 R WELSH
9 Soldiers to 2 R WELSH

Another parade is due to take place on Friday 31 October 08. As it stands today, 10 soldiers will pass out into the Regiment.

6 Soldiers to 1 R WELSH
4 Soldiers to 2 R WELSH

No more pass out parades are forecasted until early next year. I will pass on more information as i recieve it.
Overall a good year for recruiting.

I was involved in a Army Apprentice College visit today and was impressed by the amount of young potential recruits attended approx 110. Out of these at least 60% were wanting to join the Royal Welsh which shows the hard work our troops are putting in to recruit for both Battalions.

Not to start a large topic on this the last Apprentice College closed about 4 years ago. It is now called the Army Foundation College, which includes all the Corps from the Army, less the Int Corp, RMP and QA’s (Adult Entry only).

All other 16-17.1 year olds, now attend the Army Development Course in Winchester.

Scorch I think you are talking about members of The Army Preparation College, These are young boys and girls who attend a course to prepare them to join the forces.
