George Forbes 2nd Bn 1920/30's
Picked this query up off the BBC Wales website: Looking at the details, Its likely that George was a regular with the 2nd Bn, although I'm not sure where the India piece fits in. George was probably transferred to the 11th (Denbighshire)Home, Guard Bn at the onset of war, as I can't find any references to any other 11th Bn( Can anyone else advise). All suggestions and help appreciated.

"My Father George Forbes (Sergent Major) was in the 2nd Battlion RWF. He served in India and the Sudan. I believe he was transferred to the 11th battalion from 1940 till the end of the war. Does the name ring a bell? I would love to hear from you if you can recall him. I never knew my Father and any information would be appreciated".
Regards Mike

Nearest match I can find is :
4185401 Cpl G H Forbes (1937)
Might be the chap ? I have no other info on him though - just that he received a 1937 Coronation Medal.

Thanks Richard,
I have posted your info on the BBC Wales site. The site is worth a look, there are some interesting accounts from Royal Welchman who served in both world wars. http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/mid/sites/ww2
