Raffles and Lotteries - How They Work
If you navigate to User CP>>Donations and Drawings, you will be able to see active drawings, as well as expired drawings. Active drawings will be displayed on top, and you will be able to purchase tickets. Expired drawings will be placed on the bottom, and will show the winners of each (if applicable).
How to decipher what is listed on this page:
The right column will display xxx Tickets Held, xxx How much each Ticket cost. The xxx would be replaced with appropriate numbers. The xxx before tickets held signifies how many tickets you have in this event. The xxx Credits Each signifies how much each ticket costs.
The left column displays the type of drawing, the prize for each, the drawing date, the total tickets purchased, and your chances of winning. We have detailed below the various types of drawings, so you can fully understand the process for each.
The points on raising raffle and raising lottery will increase automatically with each purchase, and the prize points total will update to reflect this. The drawing date is the date the prize will be automatically awarded, and will happen at midnight. Total tickets lets you know how many tickets have been purchased by all our members. Odds of winning will show you how much of a chance you have to win, with the current amount of tickets you have entered for the contest.
Static Raffle: We set a specific amount, and that amount is automatically awarded to the winner at the end of the contest. Winners are chosen randomly from the entries available (1 winner for every contest).
Raising Raffle: We set a specific amount, and that amount increases as tickets are purchased. Then the total is automatically awarded to the winner at the end of the contest. Winners are chosen randomly from the entries available (1 winner for every contest).
Static Lottery: We set a specific payout amount, and that is awarded to the winner if their number is picked (automatic). Users purchase tickets, and our system generates random numbers for each, between 001-999 (will be changed as participation increases). If there are no winners, the balance would carry over to the next lottery. If there are multiple winners, the award would be divided between the winners.
