Tegid Roberts - Photo in uniform
Hi
Firstly thank you to the people who provided previous help to me in tracing my uncle meirion Roberts. I have been able to obtain his service records from your help.
I have now found an old photo of his brother Tegid Roberts. I don't know anything about him beyond his name. Meirion served in the 2nd Bn during the 2nd world war and died in Burma. Tegid survived.
I was hoping that somone may be able to recognise anything from the photo that would help me trace Tegid. If he did serve with the Royal Welch is their anyway to obtain his service number and therefore his service records?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me

Re: Tegid Roberts - Photo in uniform
Hi Nerys,
Welcome back, and well done on obtaining Meirions service record. Was there anything of interest contained within it?
With regard to the photo, it is pretty difficult to make out the background, is your copy any clearer?
Does his age suggest he served during WW2, or could the photo have been taken after the war?
Best Wishes

Re: Tegid Roberts - Photo in uniform
Hi
Another copy of the photo has been found, and there is a sign behind Tegid's head that looks like it says "Royal Air Force Officers Quarters Out of Bounds" . Tegid was born in 1923 so i am guessing this was during the 2nd world war.
Meirion's records were very interesting although there is a lot I don't really understand in them. For example there is a membership number for something called the National amalgamated? It is under - name of society and also has NHI next to it. On another form it has "main & sub occupational No. 190.8 and underneath it has industry No. Z.E" I don't know if you know what any of these mean?
Thanks
Nerys

Re: Tegid Roberts - Photo in uniform
Hi Nerys looking at that picture again, he appears to be wearing shoes. Now I may be wrong, but during the war, I thought only the RAF wore shoes. Its possible that may be an RAF Uniform, although the tie does look like it may be Khaki.....?
I would suggest scanning the record document, and emailing it for Bob to put up on this thread, someone may be able to pick some pointers from the details.
