Its been a long time, but finally A Company's missing Saxon's from Op Grapple 95 are starting to reappear. This one is in the hands of the Serbian Gendarmarie. Personally I'm gutted that it wasn't blown to pieces by the NATO airstrikes. Anyway, now I know where it is, perhaps Rab Warren can get his butt over to Belgrade, first parade it, and then return it to myself....Complete to Equipment Schedule. Oh...and make sure the little squirty oilcan has oil in it.

nice one Al, how many saxons did we loose mate can you remember, im not sure what ever happened to the 1 me and Mikey Highnam took to Belgrade with the Compasionate cases. I remember the hydrolics going on it as we where driving through the mountains and mikes biceps buldging when we got there. Was that 1 ever recoverd by the Battalion. Glad i didnt sign for it.

I think we lost about 7 altogether. I doubt very much if yours made it back to Blighty. Bearing in mind the airstrikes shortly after your run!!!

I think they use them for internal security, looking at the picture, there appears to be another one just out of shot. A search of UTube, may reveal them in action during recent unrest in Belgrade. Although I havn't had a look.

I think there is still a Saxon in a garden on the outskirts of Gorazde, after Karl Stowell tried a spot of home improvements and rolled it down the hill!! The look on the muslim home owners face when Karl asked "Can we have our saxon back please?" was a picture!!

IF THAT IS OUR SAXON ITS THE ONE THAT WENT OFF THE CANDY STRIP 200ft AND KILLED A SERB ESCORT.THE FUNNY THING IS THEY MADE YOGI GO BACK THE NEXT DAY AND RECOVER IT, BEING COMD BY A SERB.IT WAS THEN PAINTED CAMOFLAUGE ,(NOT SURE IF YOGI HELPED ON THAT ONE) TAKEN UP ONTO THE CONFRONTATION LINE.ON RETURN THE SERBS THEN GAVE YOGI THE L37 TO CLEAN(CHEEKY B******DS).

I was on OP 2 with Dave Parry MC, our Saxon was left on the hill as the serbs and muslims started to fight each other and we were taken for an escorted guided tour of local jails. Does anyone know what happened to the saxon, it was the only OP from B coy to be captured, i heard it had an RPG go through it. If anyone ever goes back and finds my washing still hanging up please bring back.
