Fusilier or Private

Hi all.

I hope you will excuse my ignorance on this ...........but are OR's in RWR called "Fusiliers" or "Privates"

My interest is partly driven by the fact that my son has recently expressed a wish to join the army (He's only 13!!!) and I wondered if he does join the RWR, what his title would be.

Hi Steve

If he joins the 1st Bn Royal Welsh (Royal Welch Fusiliers) he will be called a fusilier, however if he joins the 2nd Bn Royal Welsh (RRW) he will be called a private. How long this practice goes on for is another matter

Theres only one Fusilier and thats a Royal Welch Fusilier "1 R Welsh".
