Re: Royal Welch 'Superstars'
The Royal Welch Superstar in my lifetime is Ray Williams 29 - last time I saw ay was in Ternhill when they had a weight lifting competition - Ray gavehime the weight he wanted to lift and the sad organiser told Ray that we only do Kilos here not lbs. If it wasnt for steroids he woudl have been ontheworld stage.
On the same night I was collecting money in the Red Dragon for Charity and teh Colonel of The Regiment (Brigadier.... Sorry cannot remember his name) chucked in a Twenty and all the other officers chucked in tenner so not to be emabararssed.

Re: Royal Welch 'Superstars'
Michael Caine's national service was from 1951 to 1953. His first year of service was spent in Iserlohn, near Dortmund, with the Queens Royal Surrey Regiment
He was then transferred with four other members of his platoon to the Royal Fusiliers (London Regiment) and sent to Korea.

Re: Royal Welch 'Superstars'
What about the late, great Sir Richard Burton in "Wild Geese?" He wore a purple/mauve beret with a Royal Welch cap badge. He can`t have served or we`d all know. Did he have to get permission from the Regiment to wear it ?
