Robert Tate
Hi all
Please can anyone tell me anything about a Robert Tate born 20.june 1915 in Tynemouth, but lived in Llandudno area North Wales and joined RWF made it to the ranks of corp,
Thats all I know of him sorry, but I am trying to piece together a family tree, or can someone please tell me where to ask about him etc.

Hi Maggie,
Welcome to the Forum. To obtain his military service records you need his Service Number. Firstly contact the Curator at the RWF Museum Caernarfon. Ask him to search for Tate's details in the enlistment books. If they find him, it will give you his number and also his battalion, and possibly period of service. They may charge a small fee for the search
You then obtain a SAR form from the veterans site, include a cheque for about £35, send it off to the MOD and wait about 4-8 months for the documents.
Let us know how you get on with the museum please. If they give you a battalion, we will be able to tell you a little about movements during the war.
