It is with deep regret that we inform the Regimental family of the passing of Mr Howie Williams, who passed away on the 01st of July 2026, at the age of 63
Cpl 24714291 Howie Williams joined the 1st Battalion, The Royal Welch Fusiliers in 1984 at Tern Hill, Market Drayton, where he was assigned to 12 Platoon, D Company.
During his time at Tern Hill, Howie deployed on operational tours to the Falkland Islands in 1985 and Northern Ireland on Operation Cara Cara in 1986. He also took part in a winter exercise in Washington State, USA, where his platoon won the coveted Top Dog competition.
The funeral service will take place on Thursday, the 30th of July 2026, at 13:30hrs at Pentrebychan Crematorium, Pentre-Bychan Rd, Rhostyllen, Wrexham LL14 4EP. Following the service, the family invites attendees to attend a reception at Maesgwyn Hall, Mold Rd, Wrexham LL11 2AF.
Howie requested that those wishing to attend his funeral be offered the option to wear sports tops or football or rugby shirts.
Branch Standard Bearers are invited to attend, if possible.
