It is with deep regret that we inform the Regimental family of the passing of Frank Dolan, who died on the 25th of January 2026, at the age of 85.

Frank was a well-known and respected member of the RWF family. During his service, he completed operational tours in Cyprus and Northern Ireland and enjoyed a successful career, achieving the rank of Warrant Officer Class Two. He held the appointments of Signals Warrant Officer and Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant (RQMS).

The son of a regular RWF Warrant Officer, WO2 Dolan was born in Hightown Barracks in 1940. He enlisted in 1 RWF in 1958 and served twenty-five years with the Regiment. Upon leaving the regular Army, Frank re-enlisted with the 3rd Bn The Royal Welch Fusiliers at Hightown Barracks, Wrexham. He was appointed Regimental Signals Warrant Officer (RSWO), a post he held until the end of his military career in October 1990. Following his service, Frank continued his connection to the Regiment by taking on the role of Caretaker at Hightown Barracks.

Funeral Arrangements:
The funeral service will take place on Friday, 27th of February 2026, at 2:15 PM at Pentrebychan Crematorium, Pentre-Bychan Rd, Rhostyllen, Wrexham, LL14 4EP.

Following the service, the family invites attendees to a reception (details to be confirmed).

Branch Standards Bearers are invited to attend, if possible.

Dress: Regimental Blazer, Tie, and Headdress with medals.
