A friend has asked on a medal forum about a GSM clasp Cyprus to 23491388 FUS. T. Neale. R.W.F. (Royal Welsh Fusiliers).

There was a Goat Major named Thomas Neale in 1958. Could they be the same?

Hi There,

Just wondering if there is any forum members who might be able to help with this request.

Understand that Thomas Neale served in Cyprus during 1958.
Guessing it would have been National Service.
Service Number was 23491388. His General Service Medal has Fusilier on it.
Found a Newspaper Article in The Guardian Journal Wednesday 30th April 1958 published I believe in Nottingham, mentions a Cpl. Thomas Neale Goat Major 1st Bn. R.W.F. Troopship Devonshire, sailing from Liverpool bound for Cyprus.
Also found a film clip of the Battalion landing in Cyprus by landing craft.

Just wondering if anyone remembers serving with Thomas, might be able to help with any background information, service information or even photographs?
Is it the same Thomas Neale who is mentioned in the newspaper article?

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
