It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Glyn on 29 May at the UHW, after bravely battling Pancreatic Cancer. Last year, in September, he received the devastating news of his inoperable cancer, yet he faced the challenge head-on, enduring numerous sessions of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Glyn began his service in Cardiff on 11 Feb 1975, serving in the POW Division before transferring to the RWF. During his tenure, he embarked on several service tours, including Jamaica from 22/06/76 to 15/07/76, and two separate deployments in Northern Ireland, from 20/10/76 to 20/02/77, and 01/05/77 to 19/05/77. For his dedication, Glyn was honoured with the Gsm + clasp.

Upon his request, Glyn transferred to the Reserves in RRW on 26 Jul 1978, eventually concluding his service around 1994. Following his military career, he dedicated 32 years of his life to the Cardiff Council road cleansing department, where he contributed diligently.

Glyn married Elizabeth (Liz) on 30 Jun 1979. Although they did not have children of their own, Liz had children from a previous marriage who have all grown up alongside them.

Details regarding the funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.

Best regards
