Mr Khan asked what he was doing there and when she explained he refused to send it as he does not agree with the reasons why we are there. He also banned her from using any facilities within he Post Office. I say, if this is the case then he should lose his business with every UK resident. Please pass this on to as many people as you can.

We must of course respect this mans religous views, therefore he was well within his rights to ban a british national from entering a post office under his control.

Is it Religion? Its his personal opinion and as he is providing a service ie Post Office so he should wind his next in and respect others views as well, And if the views of others is to boycott this establishment then so be it

Second question why is it still open?

if this is a true story then mr khans postoffice facilities should be taken of him and then mr khan should be charged with racism has the mum reported this low life or complained to the proper authority with names of witnesses :mad:

I was born in Ely...my brother in law has lived there all his life. Having read the initial comment, I e mailed him about it. He hadn't heard of the incident, and reckons it, (the PO ), would have been burnt down by now, if it were true !!!
There was never a mountain in Ely!

Out of curiosity I've just googled this story. I didn't belive it for a second when I was sent the story on facebook/hyves/msn and email. It's really doinf the rounds isn't it. This kind of urban myth is created for one thing only - to cause unrest and trouble. It seems the matter was brought to light by a subs-paying member of the BNP. Says a lot dunnit. The National/International news services haven't even touched upon it and I know for a fact that the Human Rights Brigade wuld have been on it like flies, they're not because it's made up clap trap. If it was true, Mr Khan would have been imprisoned and facing severe charges. Charges relating not only to to racism but also for not providing the postal service he was contracted to. If it was true Mrs. Maria Davies (there's a nice generic name for you) would be the heroine of the tabloids and you'd all know what she looked like.

I find it a shame that, based on the speed the story has gone around, there are so many people who are willing to believe it. Poor bloke (if he exists at all).

Don't you all remember during the start of the Iraqi conflict, another story about a Muslim woman supposedly berating a western woman in a supermarket/corner shop, because the Western woman's son was in the forces? Also untrue. I won't be fodder for the *******s who make this rubbish up especially to rile the masses. Yes, there are good and bad in every culture but so many Muslim people, even children, are innocent and peace loving and because of tripe like this, are victimised and abused daily.

It's so sad.

I visit this post office regularly and there are notices on the front doors and walls stating that the post office supports all our armed forces overseas in Afghanistan and this story is a malicious rumor started to cause hatred and racial tension in the area.

I take my words back them Rob.....maybe i shouldnt have been so quick as to jump on the bandwagon. Poor fella
