sick jokes do not affend me at all, however some people may take offence to them. If they are told at the right time in the right place no problem.
Are you just asking or do you want to post some sick stuff?
Your first line is 'Sirs; Gents; Ladies' and then you follow it with a question you would not publicly ask ladies or gentlemen.
Go to ARRSE and ask that question, no .... PLEASE go to ARRSE and ask that question!
Sick jokes offend some people, regardless of whether they are serving or ex soldiers or civilians.
Hope that helps.
BTW - talking of 'sick' - I rang in sick the other day and the boss said "This is the 9th time this year you have rang in sick - just HOW sick are you?"
"Well" I said "Put it this way - I'm in bed with my twin sisters"
Everyone has different tolerence levels, so I suppose it'd have to depend on your own definition of sick.
I find quite a lot of "jokes" unfunny, becasue they're usually a **** take of minorities, gender or situations that occurred outside someones control. I'd tend to be more worried about the idiots who think them up.
Its all about testing the water first, they work for some and not for others, I think there are sick which in some cases can take the severity of an issue, and then there Gastro which are more none funny abusive!
So sick works for me lol " PS John have you finished with your sisters yet" lol
Some jokes do not offend,
However, if someone asks you not to send any more sick jokes on a particular subject to them, then you should accept that and not get so easily offended....

I think it depends on the content, for example JT's twin sisters joke above. That I see as a generalization of a taboo (and Illegal) subject and find it quite amusing. However I overheard someone tell a number of jokes about young Jade Goody the other day which appalled me. If that guys sister or mother was suffering the same, would he still think it as hilarious told by another person? I doubt it. For me if a joke highlights others misfortune, it isn't funny. We are all different though eh?
Hi,
Jokes of whatever nature should be confined to the 'Jokes & Humour' thread and conform to the standards set down by the founders of the forum.
It's a families forum and, as the Jokes & Humour Moderator, I would delete any joke or malicious dig at whatever subject if I considered that it offended other members of the forum.
If you have a blue or sick joke for your chums that you are unsure of, you've always got the PM system!!
Bye for now,
If you are asking yourself a. is this a sick joke ? b. will it offend someone ? safe bet is don't post it.
Then again some might not even think it
I am a bit old fashioned, I agree with Gerry if you wish to share a joke sick or otherwise post it in the Jokes and Humour section then those who may be offended dont need to read them.
Joe.
I was accused, on another forum, of being 'sick' (I'm not saying I'm NOT sick but .......) by posting this joke
"Beautiful manilla envelope
Address written in lovely flowing italic
Topped with a first class stamp ....
This isn't just any P45, this is an M&S P45!"
Well guess what, someone's wife had just been made redundant (not from M&S) and it was 'sick' to post a joke like that in this 'current climate'
Thank you Gerry, spot on. One of the attractions of the site is that all areas are accessable to every single member of whatever age, safe in the knowledge that they (probably) won't be offended. That doesn't mean we don't debate contentious issues, but that's different. The Forum is certainly not the place for those jokes.....
I would agree but I don't think that was the intention as the question was does it offend, and I would be surprised if anyone would intentionally post something offensive on the sight! and as mentioned there is the standards police whom would thankfully sensor it first!
If your funny you will make people laugh JT spot on!
Fair point Barry, I think I misunderstood Dai's question, that is unless he was guaging opinion before posting one.....In which case...I'm spot on!
Yeh knowing Dai as we do Al you probably are spot on.
Dai m8 there are some people who wouldnt care less and can find the funny side of most things taken in the right context that it is just that a joke. But as has previously been said we are all different mate and have all had different life experiences and as eggs is eggs a joke that may get 10 people laughing will probably offend 2 others.
