What was the song Chow?
Harvey Andrews Song I think you mean1
The song is called 'The Soldier's Song'.
I have heard two versions of the song, but don't know who wrote the original music/lyics and who sang the piece originally.
'The British Soldier' by Harvey Andrews
Here's an ARRSE link - seems it's based on a true story - Sgt Willets - PARA. There is a photo of him on the 3rd page of that link.
This is the same song attached to another video from NI

Chow, I believe it was. It was banned by BBC and BFBS.
I went to see him play in Wrexham about 8 yrs ago. Very good, quite a funny guy. He doesn't play the song anymore, as he feels its now in the past. Although the song was banned, Harvey did appear on BFBS Radio quite a few times, he also toured many of the British Forces Folk clubs in Germany during the 70's and 80's.
His best known song to his civvy fans is "Hey Sandy" which was about the US student campus race riots of the late 1960's...another good song.
