What Is The World Coming To ? ? ?

I was awoken (05:40) this morning by the sliding handle of my out door shed, as i looked out of my bedroom window, i saw a shadow entering the shed, i shouted "oiiiii get out of my shed" (or words to that effect), i got some clothes on as quickly as possible and ran out to the shed, but could not find anything missing, i ran back into the house and went and opened the front door and round to the side of the house where i found some frozen (chicken wings and frozen sausages) puzzled by this i went back into the shed and into the freezer and low and behold 2/3 of the freezer contents were missing, i immediately rang the police and they informed me that someone will be there ASP, within 10 minutes the police arrived and told me to do nothing, touch nothing the "sniffer dog is on the way", 4 minutes later the sniffer dog arrived and picked up the scent straight away (we had a good idea who had stolen the food), and surprise the sniffer dog led the police straight to their house, 4 police cars and 2 riot vans and an ambulance later the thieves were carted away, the police asked us to name the missing items (which we did) and of they went to the thieves house and the police then bought 3 bags full of frozen food and asked us to identify them, (funnily enough the same items that i told the police was stolen), the frozen items are now in my freezer, in bags and now i am waiting for forscenic's to turn up try and get prints of them

What posesses people to steal frozen food from someone elses house !!!!!!! i ask you ? ? ?

lofty 12 o'clock midday on friday i was entering a shop next to s school when three lads aged about 20 or so asked if i wanted to buy some weed , WHAT THE F%$& is happening here , i told the one who asked to f&^8 off before i rearranged his features and the shopkeeper told me they are there all the time and the police know but nothing has ever been done ??? is this what our kids have got to look forward to if so then time for sunnier climes i think

I`m amazed that the Police were there within 10mins Lofty, they usually take a couple of days in Cardiff lol !!!

Well the police have just left after taking statements and they reckon there is a good case against the THIEVES as "sniffer" went straight to their house and the fact that they had exactly the same items in their freezer, as the items that we had stolen (even the broken packages)

The worst thing is one of them used to be friendly with my 2 boys and he used to come to my house all the time - until he found his brothers profession more profitable

I foned 999 the other evening to report a 'crime in commission' involving some youths. I was told by the operator they did not consider that sort of crime an emergency. When I asked her for the alternative number for reporting 'non-emergency' crimes in commission, she said "There's no need to be sarcastic".

Typical 89, at least it`s like that in Cardiff. I`m sure the boys in blue of N. Wales (Ex RWF) are very proffessional & courteous in their dealings with the public ! (may get a few replies to this lol).

Up in Wrexham we have been pretty lucky to have quite a few decent PCSO's. The majority of them get stuck into a lot more than they are actually meant to. And all this is done with very limited powers, so I think it makes what they do even more commendable. Yes, there are some less able ones, as is the case with any Organisation, Company or Service.

I had a really useless plumber do some work at my house once, It doesnt mean I will have a go at every single plumber because of the one I dealt with. (Ok, I didnt really, but you get my point).

Our shed was broken into and two bikes nicked, so lock fixed and new bikes, but, three months later, the buggers came back and nicked them too. Now we have an extra lock on the shed and make sure everything in there is locked up. I hope you don't have any lasting effects from this Lofty, for months afterwards I kept waking up everytime I heard any noise. It sucks when your privacy and property is violated.

I think it`s a good idea to have these `Mosquito` devices where the `Hoodies` hang around. We used to have a lovely grass area where the pensioners used to sit & watch the world go by - not any more, they`ve wrecked all the benches so you can`t sit there any more. I used to tell them to go home as it`s just next to my house but i don`t any more as i`ve had a window put through. Where are their parents while they`re out until 11 or 12.00pm ?

Well the parents are the result of discipline being taken out of Schools in the early 80s allowing a decline in individual behavior and personal respect for others so if you have no standards at home what will you get on the street!

Its OK for the fluffy bunch to condemn punishment but it worked and now we have a country of parents and siblings who don't care a dam.

It has to be none tolerance policy with the punishment so severe you will eventually weed the bad eggs out of our society!!!!

I remember when i use to get up to no good when i was a kid id have big ritche (my dad) take me around the back and have a chat with his big left ha ha :>)

it is all to easy to blame the police , the reason they get pasted is that they are first in the firing line. we all know where the blame lies , primarily its the parents then the lawmakers of this land who hog tie the police taking away all their power to prosecute , smack round the ear whatever . how frustrating must it be for a hardworking police officer to graft , get all the evidence witnesses etc only to have the dpp throw the case out . we all know how it used to work as tony said the old man would have a quiet word with the a left hand or the local bobby would do the same but if they did it now the claims culture takes over and bang ££££ in their pockets . wise up britain we are going down the tubes fast and unless someone with a big enough pair of balls who we elect into power tackles this problem then we are looking at every generation getting worse and pretty soon the streets will belong to the scum although as some coppers will tell you they already do .
before i shut up on the news around south wales this week all they have been on about is all our emergency services ambulance , fire police etc being abused , threatened had objects thrown at them and more , wtf is going on don't these assholes realise what jobs these poeple do . it is getting worse folks and that is no exaggeration society is falling apart.

Sorry I got the title wrong, like I said there are exceptions to the rule and when I See Mick on the weekend I'm sure I'll bring the topic up, no need for a Email. wont be long before we begin to see allot more PCSOs taking over from you lot as they're doing such a good job and all that, oh and I nearly forgot you get 2 for the price of 1 PC, that the sort of stats the government like.

Believe it or not mate, The PCSO's starting rate when they join the job is only very slightly less than a new Police officer.(and they had their pay increase given in full- ha ha. Thats another story). I can only speak for the Wrexham area, but a large percentage of PCSO's are actually paid for by local council/authorities. I think this may well be being withdrawn in the future, but Mick Camplin or someone better in the know will have to confirm that. it may be the case that they are then paid for out of the Police budget, and that is when problems may start. As ive said this is only what I believe to be the case at the moment.

In regards to the thread in general, here is one example that has always hit it home to me about lack of respect:

When I was younger, and Im sure it will be the same for the rest of you, If a Police car drove past me and my mates, even if we had done nothing at all, we would put our heads down not wanting to attract attention. These days if I am driving around, the young "hero's" of our communities actual stare directly at you with a look of absolute contempt, trying to get a reaction.or they shout something as we've driven past. For some reason this makes them look 'a bit of a lad' within their group!!

Those that know me will know Im not shy in coming forward, so I usually stop, reverse and ask them what their problem is. This is usually met with either:

- "I Didnt Say anything" or
-"I was only staring it's not an offence"(Unfortunaely very true!)

I would then usually just tell them to grow up and get a life. This will of course, usually end up in a complaint against Police for 'incivility' or whatever. And yes, It has to be investigated! Madness. I can assure that the 'one rule for us and one rule for them' is definately a thing of the 70's/80's.

Im probably gonna shoot myself in the foot here, but if you really want to mess a Police officer about, just make up a mad complaint about them, dont worry about needing witnesses or even that it is totally made up. The Police have to investigate it!!

I know I wont be the only copper reading this that has been interviewed on tape and under caution for something that 10 witnesses and CCTV evidence prove is a malicious complaint. They are so scared of the cover ups that used to go on that they will look into anything you tell them!! Im not saying that all Officers are totally innocent of course not, but its sad when we have to let offenders off with things because the CPS wont carry on the case, then on the other hand our Professional Standards Dept will investigate us fully for a totally obvious lie.

Oh well gotta go now and speak with my Solicitor. Apparantly I put handcuffs on someone too tight the other night.(they were fighting with me at the time!!) Think im joking?

Not quite true, I mentioned nothing about response times of the police and how well they did to get there in time, I referred to your comment in reference to the PCSO's I quote "have you seen some of them". Just to give you some indication of what we're up against my rota consists of me plus 4 constables and I cover when on duty 250 sq miles. Each of my officers have an average of 20 crimes they are personally investigating and when they come on duty they have to respond to any other jobs that come in.
The 20 or so victims of each officer expect, and rightly so their crime to be solved and so do the 25 or so victims which we deal with on an average shift............As you can see we are stretched beyond belief but we soldier on and take the huge amount of unnecessary flak from the general public who have no idea what we're up against.
Example of a simple crime and officer comittment.......................You see Johnny too bad who lives down the road steal a bottle of milk from a neighbors door step. We arrive within the response time (if not committed) lock up Johnny take him to custody book him in, await his free and independent legal advice (solicitor,if juvenile plus appropriate adult / social services, interview suspect and probably bail him because he says not me officer I'm innocent, seek CPS advice for charging and complete what we call a full file. This for the most experienced officer with fantastic computer skills will take 5 YES 5 hours.(off the streets)
If you consider that Johnny too bad, never works alone please understand thats why when you ring the police and nobody turns up, their probably at custody with their prisoner/s who they have a duty of care for under the European Human rights Act.
I'm not asking for sympathy as I know none is coming, we just need more officers.

It looks like the lunatics have taken over the asylum. No respect for anyone or anything, the welfare state being a way of life instead of there to help people who really need help, no recognition for people who want to do some good, just suspicion of what their angle is.

Why are scum who don’t pay the taxes that their compensation, free legal help, free housing, transportation and housing comes from being allowed such a level of freedom when it comes to toeing the line?

This thread started with what is the World Coming to? Simple answer I don’t know, but I do know I don’t like what I see. I have a huge amount of respect for all of the emergency services, Police, Fire, Ambulance, Doctors, Nurses the list goes on. They all suffer abuse from this sector of the community but apparently it’s against the human rights of scum not to be allowed to behave in this way and the rest of us just have to take it because that’s how it is. A couple of years ago I would have gone on about tree hugging, sandal wearing hippy social workers being to blame but now I know a few of them they harbour similar views to me, so I don’t know where the lenient attitude towards scum comes from.

We are generating more government revenue now than ever before through local and central taxes. There is money per person in taxation terms than ever before. So where is it going? I am going to stop now as I could go on all night.

Anyone serving with the emergency services, THANK YOU AND KEEP IT UP IT CAN ONLY GET BETTER FOR YOU.

Yes it can be very frustrating Sid I know as when I worked within Avon & Somerset Probation Service covering Hostels & Prisons in Bristol there were many scrotes about, when caught breaking into cars or property they would throw up the drug card and sentence would be defered on condition they attended a drug treatment course, but often not aways they used this as a opt out of prison, and Drugs where not the issue later they would go on to become a Prolific offenders the yo yo man in and out of Prison still returning to the streets to reoffend.

As Austrilia is no longer an option we need to identify a convict planet very soon!
