Anyone who had any contact with Gwynant knew he was a cracking lad. This is very sad day, 69 was my 2ic when he was in D Coy, I'm gutted. My deepest sympathies go to his family.
I don't believe it! a great lad with a cracking sence of humor. I put his brother into the Army a couple of years ago, i don't know if he is still in. Deepest sympathy to all his family and friends.

I cant believe it , Gwynant and i went through Junior leaders together we were the stick men on our passing out parade, when we finished basic we were sent on the drummers course in lichfield but he was rtu'd for something that wasn't his fault so he never ended up being a drummer which is a shame because he would have been a great drummer . A great bloke who will be sadly missed , my deepest condolences to his family.
Very sad to hear this Gwynant was a very nice chap and will be sadly missed, our thoughts go out to his family, friends and fellow comrades' at this very sad time.
May He rest in Peace

RIP Gwynant my old mate
I was saddened to hear of the death of someone so young, I remember Gwynant as a young keen Fusilier who played an active role in my platoon. Gwynant did exceptionally well in the Assault Pioneer Platoon who went on to complete his Asslt Pnr courses with the Royal Engineers and then the JNCO’s cardre, after which he played a vital role in assisting in the running of the platoons continuation training cardre that I ran up in Morecambe.
Gwynant was a strong spirited and well liked person, who was always willing to help his fellow fusilier and was thought highly of by all those that knew him, not just in the platoon but within the Battalion.
Gwynant will be sadly missed by all those that knew him, and our deepest
Sympathies go to his family and close friends at this very sad time
Regards
Dai Martin70 (Asslt Pnr Pl Cmdr - retired)

Sad to hear of another young Royal Welch man's life lost to soon, I only knew him as another member of the pioneer platoon, ( thanks for the photo at the start of this post to refresh my failing memory, ) but what everyone has written about him has told me that he was well liked and will be missed by all that knew him.
I would like to thank every one that has taken time out to post a thread on this, as I can not find the THANKS box at the end of any therads.
Gwynant was a really great lad and as everyone has said just a genuine lovely bloke.
RIP Mate

So sorry to hear about 69. He was a fine Royal Welchmen who, in many ways, epitomised our ethos. Hardworking, unassuming, not seeking any praise but just getting on and doing a damn good job. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. With deepest sympathy, Bob
