Re: WO2 Wally Jones 15 - Late 1RWF
Oh Dear, another sad chapter in our Regimental History. I first met Wally in June 1963 when I joined the Bn in Iserlohn and eventually posted to A Coy where he was a Platoon Cpl.
For the past 17 months he has been my Rhondda neighbour since my move from the West Midlands. He never did get over the loss of his beloved Marian - now reunited.
Have spoken to Wally's Granddaughter Joanna and she has informed me that post Cremation Service all are welcome at the Treorchy Rugby Club, Lower Regent Street, Treorchy, CF42 6PV. Phone No: 01443 432874. Email: contactus@treorchyrugbyclub.com. Bar Manager Phone No: 07977886654.
My wife and I have paid personal condolences to the family in addition to all members of London Branch RWFCA. RIP old friend.
Post Note: For Catering Purposes, Joanna would be very grateful if those who propose attending the Rugby Club post Cremation Service would confirm asap, either on facebook, her mobile: 07455549549, PM me on this site or my mobile: 07932829502.
