if Scotland vote to go independent then we will have to change the union flag and in choosing a new flag is this the ideal time for Wales to be recognised on that flag because at present Wales is the only one of the four nations not represented on the union Jack as we are regarded as a principality
Whatever the result I think there will be loads of changes. Hopefully never again will Westminster take the aspirations of people lightly or with indifference…….I think we'll be in for an interesting period of politics in the UK or whats left of it, after tonight.
Whatever happens, it is long overdue that wales was represented on the union flag.
If you listened to DC this am you will have heard him already start to renege on the promises they made last week. 'An immediate change.........' is what they signed up to. At the end of his speech this am he said 'in the next Parliament.' What he omitted to say, of course, was 'if we win the next election' which is what he ALWAYS promises.Quote:

If Cameron and by definition the conservatives lose the next election what happens to the promised referendum on the European membership. Is it enshrined in Hansard or can the Labour and or the Lib Dems revoke this promise. I am sure it has not had a white or green paper discussed so obviously it cannot go before the House of Lords for ratification or be included in the Queen's speech. What do you reckon will we be dropped in the cart over this or not. Food for thought. Parliamentarians have glossed over the expenses farce and the chance to have elections to Parliament cast on all votes being counted and the majority being elected and nobody is disenfranchised, and why do we need just about a 1,000 members in the House of Lords? Only one country in the world has more governance than the U K and that is the People's Republic of China.

I just Googled a question re the promised E U referendum because I had a funny feeling both the Labour and the Lib Dems would not call for a European referendum. How ever Len Mc Clusky the gaffer of the Unite Union states if labour renege on this promise McClusky is of the opinion they will lose the election and it seems Unite are grudgingly accepting the fact that " The natives are getting restless"and a referendum is a must for the Labour party to implement. And Unite donate a small fortune to the Labour party so it may well be McClusky has fired a shot across the labour parties bow.?? Who knows the way politicians think it is in the lap of the God's.

If they (the Tories) lose the next election its gone. Labour have already said they wouldn't have a referendum…..the Libs are dead against it. We are in a real mess at the moment constitutionally and today, the promises to Scotland already appear to be falling away…especially now that Cameron has tied the Scottish changes to similar changes for England…on the same timetable. Labour are already saying they don't support that. Ultimately Labour will be the big losers as they will not be able to rely on their Scottish or Welsh MP's to support them on English-only legislation in the House of Commons! Interesting times :-)
It is simply unbelievable that so many residents of Scotland (does anybody know how many Russian/Spanish/French/German etc citizens were living in Scotland yesterday, all of whom had a vote?) could be taken in by the Westminster Mob so very easily. You'd have thought they learned the lesson about what Westminster politicians are capable of when it comes to protecting their positions after the 1979 referendum when Harold Wilson withdrew everything he had offered, within 24 hours of closure of the polling booths.Quote:
