Sadly I have to report the death of a true friend, Jim Rowlands, Jim died on Friday after a long, bravely fought illness, our thoughts and condolences go to his wife Ceri and Son's Andrew and Dylan and all Family and friends, Jim the brother of Glyn, (ex Sigs, 1 Btn 60s) served with the 1 Btn RWF in the 50's in Dortmund and Berlin, he also served with the 6/7th TA Btn RWF, also with the Gwynedd Army Cadet Force before retiring with the rank of Captain, Jim, our Branch Chairman, was a true Royal Welchman, he would turn red with rage at the mention of someone trying to change the traditions and the name of Royal Welch Fusiliers, a Royal Welchman througe and through, as Brian Donovan once said of a bereaved friend, "The Angels at the gate of Heaven will form a guard of honour" I bet Jim had the same welcome on Friday and saluted with pride as he passed througe the gates of Heaven, rest in peace my old friend.
