So sorry to hear this sad news. Lofty and I served together in 1 platoon in Erskine Camp in 1971. He was a young LCpl and I a very young 2Lt. He taught me a great deal about the practical aspects of soldiering and I always enjoyed his company. He will be sorely missed and I send my heartfelt condolences to his family.
There are many kinds of sorrow in this world of love and hate, but there is no sterner sorrow than a soldier's for his mate.
We were both very sorry to hear the sad news of Loftys passing. God Bless and R.I.P Lofty was a true gentleman and I was proud to call him my friend. Sue and I send our heartfelt and sincere condolences to Lorna, David, Jonathon and family.
Aw god another good one gone, I was trying to trace him as he was my Pl Sgt in Lemgo & I used to babysit for him, he was a real gentleman, condolences to Lorna and the rest of his family.
