Hi Tony
Mike 31 left the Battalion in the early seventies then re-enlisted in the R.A.M.C as an OperatingTheatre Technician. As far as I know he completed his service and I imagine he would have carried on with his theatre work in civvie street. Bill Doutch or Nick Ravenhill may know of his wherabouts. Anyone reading this in touch with either Bill or Nick can you ask? Sorry I cant be of any further help. Regards, Nick
Did he settle down in the Manchester area by any chance.

I was dealing with a M Williams in work yesterday; he was from M'chester & born 1948. I will try & follow up on this.

Thanks for that Ray, I have been meaning to send some photos to the mods but I have been busy however, I will try on the weekend again. Can you enlighten me about our meeting in Bridgend, my Mrs recons I am going senile, my memory is not as it used to be. Trust 31 to end up with a cushy job.
Hi Barry Hughes 69 here, I was a Fus in the Sigs in Tidworth 1976 with Gwyn he was a Cpl, Mike was the Pl Sgt but left to join the Medics as a Tech as Gwyn says.
I knew Tom Sal to but fortunately being a Northwalian I had it easy with Tom as you say he looked after the North, One of Toms quotes when detailing us boys for work or a task, " was that he needed 6 southwalians for a task and one nothwalian to supervise" not fair but hey who was going to tell "Mr Angry" ?
Although I tell you somthing once when our pay was messed up Tom advanced us £100 each until the next month and no intreset attached! so not all bad aye.
Well good luck with finding Mike:emoticon-sign:
Regarding Mike 31, I was reading through the Jan edition of Soldier Mag and noticed the OTTs were advertising for their annual reunion. I have contacted the sec of their assoc, who has told me that he knows Mike very well. Mike is currently in the states, and will be until 11 Feb, but Ken Hannah (sec) will ive Mike my email addy. Once I have made contact, I will put a thread on here.

Tony,
Go to gallery, 1970's, page 3, 31 is in the back of a Land Rover playing with the radio. I'm sure you will find it now.
By the way do you remember me? I to was a signaller in Hong Kong and NI. In Tidworth and Belfast I (as well as others ) drove the CO about. In Belfast 75 (I think) I crashed the Landrover with the CO in it. He called up Captain Dai Ross and said "David, this is a white ghost speaking, Thomas has just tried to kill me". I found it quite funny but I was fined 25 pounds for the attempt. For some reason he did not want me to drive him for a while.
I can not remember you but if you can post an old photo It may come to me.
Dilwyn
PS Anyone else know some good stories like that one? I'm sure John T must have some good ones.
Yep thats him, his hair is looking quite long, he was always a big mate with Tom Sal though:laugh:
Hello I would be grateful if you could give me Mike 31 contact no or E Mail address and Tony Coynes would love to have a natter with them.

Tony Coyne of the people I thought I'd never hear from again. What are you doing these days/ Where do live? Do you have a family? so many questions. I'm still married to Sue, we have two girls 33 and 35 and they both have two children each. We live in Portsmouth and I work for the MOD. Great to know you are still breathing! I am in contact with Mike Davis 46 he was our clerk, he married one of the nureses from Hong Kong and he and her are now retired and living in Cyprus. Ray 19 lives in Wrexham but I don't hear from him much. Do you know where Bob Morris is/ I'll close now and hope you get this.
