I have just been told by John Eglen, that Terry Pope passed away early this morning.

Gutted about terry, one of the first blokes i met the morning i joined the battalion , i thought im not going to last two miniutes here, frightend me half to death.. but when you got to know him he was a warm funny man who was a good friend, great rugby player and a legend in the Bn, gtoodnight godbless terry.

Capt Des Williams DCM informed me today 190511, that Terry passed away at 0200hrs this morning a sad loss to all.

So sorry to hear this sad news. Terry was one of the great mix of real characters that made the Royal Welch Fusiliers what it was, and for those that are left, what it still is. In the immortal words of Woodbine Willy:

so sad to here that terry had passed away, he was a great soldier and liked by all, he was in my coy and was turned out in good order each time and i never moaned. he was a great rugby player and played for the Bn side. you will be missed by a great lot of people, rest in peace mate wally jones 15
