Thanks to all who attended the Reunion last night. Me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the night.It was great to see so many drummers both past and present. i am about to post all the pics i took from the the function. Just back from North Wales and our annual Drums Reunion, I would like to thank Drum Major Mac, for his attendance and a well organised reunion, a big thank you must go to Mike Cornish and Paul 83, for their help in dealing with the annual raffle in Macs absence whilst in Kenya getting his white bits browned.
A big thank you goes to Major Brian Bloor for his stand in Guest of Honour in place of the LT. Col. Lock A big thank you to Wayne Roberts RSM for his attendance also. Thank you to Cathy Jones 83 for taking the David Bailey place instead of me, cant wait to see the Pictures on the forum.
And a Massive thank you must go to you, the guests and fellow drummers who have supported us again this year in attending the North Wales function. The reunions are only possible thanks to you who help make these occassions special.
PS Thanks to Steve Oakes for coming over from Berlin and attending your first mate, hope to see you at our 5th anniversary here down South.
And a big big thank you goes to Smokey Joe for agreeing to be Hon. President.

A meeting took place at the Wynnstay Arms hotel Prior to the reunion, it was decided that a Drums Committee would be elected and is has follows.

Hi All.
I would just like to say a big thank you to all that were involved in making Saturday nights Drums function such a fantastic night that it was, :rolleyes: and just add that Anne and myself had a wonderfully afternoon/night with everyone, :laugh: and as for the two Drummers that I spent some crazy years with in my passed, :twitcy: and that I hadn't seen for 15+ years, thank you for bringing back some wild and wonderful memories, :chatterbox: and for gods sake Rik don't find anymore skeletons from my cupboard :no: I to am looking forward to seeing the photos.:eek:

3. Drums Fund.
It was agreed that a drums fund would be set up, and we ask you fellow Drummers to support Mike Camplin (Treasurer.) Mike is going to open a ISA in the name of The Royal Welch Drums Society. He is then going to send out A direct Debit mandate to all that is on the forum Drummers Address Book for £10. This in return is going to be a one of payment at around October time, in readyness for the reunions in Feb. March.
4. The wearing of the flash at Reunions
It was agreed that the individual would decide.
5. Drummers Memorial Trophy.
It was agreed that we as Drummers would help support part funding of this Trophy and Players part fund also. Players costs are already taken into account, so if any of you wish to donate to the memorial fund please send P/O or Cheques made out to S Evans.
6. 5th Agenda. 2010
The Castle Hotel NEATH was chosen for the Venue
A ballot took place to see what catering arrangements would be required for the 5th anniversary, the Ballot was for a sit down meal or buffet.

Sit down meal 5 votes
So a buffet is the preferred meal of the night.
7. Guest of Honor Name for 2010.
It was agreed that in future that we would go back to one guest of honor and that the 5th anniversdary guest of honor would be Geoff Blackshaw ex Drum Major of the Cheshire Regiment. At each meeting prior to the reunion evening it would be put to those present who they wished to be be the following years reunion guest. it was also agreed that the Guest of Honor would not pay towards the evening costs or room hire. The room hire would be taken into account when negotiating with the venue.
8. Any other business.
It was agreed that Drummers can invite a guest along to future reunions, but the individual who invited the guest would pick up the cost if he or she failed to turn up on the night. it was also agreed that if Drummers stated they were coming and then decided not to turn up that they would still receive a bill from the treasurer, due to the fact that the individual and partner/wife were catered for.

Many thanks to everyone involved in organising the 2009 reunion.
Both me & Diane had a great night & it was brilliant to meet up with old friends & comrades after so many years. Really looking forward to making the trip to Neath to meet up again in 2010.

Glad to see the official notice board returned safe & well and not too traumatised after it's night out. It seemed to enjoy it's sleepover in my room but bloody hell it snores like a pig. I'll leave it on the landing next year.
