Rob,
good try matey, but I gave my word I would not mention either person. The bottom line is, neither did anything underhand, they genuinly, although wrongly, thought it would be ok.At least it's all sorted and the belt is rightly on its way back! Im never being a ' go between' again!!!
Keep safe mate, see you soon for a few beers in Wrexham.
Nobodies knocking you mate & the individual who had it has done the right thing & handed it in.
In my opinion the belt should be with the 1st Bn whether on display or to be fought for once again, it is The Bns decision to make, if a fitting place cannot be found then with the families permission it could go into the care of the Caernarvon RWFCA & be put on display there, in any case pictures should be taken of both the Mess Dress & the Belt & be circulated to his family as soon as any decision is made & bring to an end this sorry state of affairs.
Rob
Ref the memorial trophy you presented i beleive it still stands pride of place next to the bar however at the moment the Btn does not have a football team. However i am sure when we get to Chester all the the regimental teams will reform. If you got any questions mate i will do my best to answer them.
The louis Williams belt has now been dropped off with the recruiting team at Hightown, Wxm. They have assured me it will be winging it's way to Cyprus this week.
Do Not underestimate the power of the Forum!!
Cheers,
Scouse

Rob

Cheers Scorch M8
Say Hi to neil 4 me, an hopefully catch him in Wxm sometime.
If nxt time it is awarded, a pic of the winner and the trophy would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Having been the first person to win the Louis Williams Belt, I believe it should be returned to the regiment, and in memory of Lou the novice boxing competion should be continued.
