Hello Dave,
It may be a Freudian slip or a typing error. Rorkes Drift is spelt as above.

Dear All,
On Saturday last, under a sunny sky I attended the “Armed Forces Day” at Cooper’s field Cardiff, with The Lord Mayor of Cardiff in attendance. The event was very well attended by the three Services, with The Royal Welch Fusiliers Tie very much in evidence. The Rt Hon. The Lord Mayor (Councillor Brian Griffiths) hand served with the 1st Bn RWF in Jamaica 1951-53. Brian was in the Signal Pl under at that time Lt RJM Sinnett, Lt JD Pierce Sgt’s ETW Jones 57, Williams MM and RJ Mann. At a private moment with Brian he spoke at length of the happy time with the Regiment. With the support of RHQ, I was able to present him with the RWF Regimental Tie, to which he received with much delight.
Regards
Glyn
Don is correct about Brian Griffiths and David Pierce. David now lives in Truro and is a member of the British legion there .I'v posted pictures of both in the gallery
Hello All.
His Worship the Lord Mayor of Cardiff (Brian Griffiths) made a point of coming over to our table in the marquee to talk over old times from our Jamaican days. We had 2 members from the 1st of this era present and he had a chat to all the RWF members from Bridgend and Swansea branches who were present at Armed Forces day in Cardiff castle. We had a wonderful day. Next year Cardiff are hosting the national Armed Forces Day if it is any thing like this years event every RWF members should make every effort to attend.
