Hi, just to let you know this has nothing to do with H&S, to quote their spokesman (the re-routing of this parade has nothing to do with Health and Safety, this is a council decission) BBC Wales News. So its all down to the local Caerphilly Council, maybe its a cost cutting exercise???????Quote:

I do attend rememberance , but often find it hi-jacked by the church , rememberance sunday has got nothing to do with religion of any kind it ought to be about some of the bravest men that died for our country and gave their lives up for future generations .
It is a very important day for one and all , Brave men { and now women } have laid there lives on the line and if a god of any kind ever exsisted this might never happened .
god wont save you folks , you can only save youself .

Big respect the the men who thought in the 2 world wars , They gave us life , and this should never be forgoten , So if an athiest like me can turn up for rememberance so can the rest of the uk , ought to be scale A
I will be attending Caerphilly representing the Battalion. As for other members they will be all over Wales in there local towns with a high preportion of the lads going to Wrexham and Chester.
Every year we dedicate one of our windows to the poppy appeal and the local RBL use the shop to distribute and collect their collection boxes.
Well i'll be doing my bit for dolgellau,normally its a very small parade with a mixture of british legion members,royal welch cadets,police and fire service personel.The last one i went to in dol was with sgt williams 24,or more commonly known as dale.

Hello All,
Bridgend & District branch R.W.F.C.A.are sending two members to Frelinghien to recreate the Xmas truce, (Mr R.B Donovan and Mr Gwyn Jones) two members of the Swansea branch are also attending ( Mrs Beth Griffiths and "Swansea" Dai Davies) Frank Richards daughter is also attending. About 19 officers and their ladies will also be in attendance.My former Platoon Commander from my time in Malaya is will also be there. Time for a few "Jugs" Toby.the First Battalion Royal Welch Fusiliers are sending a football team to play the German regiment/s who have been located and are also coming over to take part in this recreation of the truce of 1914.We will all be joining in with a nice meal and "Vin Rouge" et al.

My plans have changed slightly, every year the weekend closest to Rememberence Day I put together an exhibit for my local museum in Peterborough to commemorate exactly what Led has written above. This year the date has been knocked back two weeks due to building work at the museum.Quote:
