John
My deepest apologies for that, it has touched you and your wife's heart so much that the nickname is from this day on abolished from the Turner name.
Once again please accept my apologies.
Best Regards

Very interesting, many thanks.
Perhaps we can get Bob or Al to instal a utility on the forum so that whenever the name 'Daisy' is typed into a thread the author's computer blows up?
That's a much more preferable option than losing your valuable input, John.
I'm sure that Bob will be able to add the offending word and "variations of" into the swear filter.
just what 'variations' were you thinking of:
daffodil?
ponsettia?
primrose?
no offence intended..but i knew & worked with ***** turner in the m.t..he was a good lad & bieng named after him would not be an insult but an honour...i'm sorry you dont feel that way..
You are having a laugh aren't you!
Are you a few coupons short of a pop up toaster? http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_5_133.gif
Me? the MD of such an emporium - named after a common truck driver? Especially one that didn't even spell the grand Turner name with a bleedin' capital 'T'!!!
I don't THHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHINK So!!!
OK Tom - if it's an honour - you have the nickname - go down the pub tonight, or to work tomorrow and insist that all your buddies refer to you as you know what - after all, it's an honour!
.....and hey - no offence to anyone that knew me as that and always called me it.
But it's John now - unless you work for me, then it's ROBOFRAMER - a tough job - but someone's gorra do it!
Well that's just silly isn't it!
That name - which is actually a serious name (check this out http://www.thegrumble.com/ where I am a 'Supreme Grumbler" - between 1000 - 4000 posts) and search for me - (RoboFramer) this too http://estlite.scenes.biz/phpBB2/ ) evolved after leaving the Bn
But SOMETHING that serving or (mostly by now) ex-members can relate to is better than something that has evolved since.
You're just taking the proverbial 89 - intcha?
This topic has been well frankenthreaded now - I just thought people would like to know how others got on after leaving the regiment.
Seems not many want to share - bloody boring bunch if you ask me - spend all your time on vitrual gambling and other escapes from reality - what's the matter - does your reality suck so much that you can't share it?
(as a PS - the first link uses the same server as this - but differently!)
To reiterate, this topic has run its course, and has nothing to do with the original post anymore.
I will give members the right to reply, should they wish to; the Thread will close on Sat 18 Nov
John, I have a sneaking suspicion that your comments about fellow members won’t receive a very sympathetic reaction to your cause! if you don't want to be a member anymore, please feel free to leave for forums greener.
That said, I for one, would be sorry to see you go. In the main, you have some interesting things to say, articulate them well and draw others into the topic. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
