I would suggest a quick phone call to Buck Summers to alert him and his dad to this thread, if any branch members or ex MT have his number.
If it is him it's a shame he parted with his medals?
Hello Al,
Re Brians number. Mine is 22541810. And after receiving a cunningly worded invitation from His Late Majesty King George the sixth to enjoy the benefits of free travel and 3 "Squares" a day I thought it churlish to refuse his offer. I accepted it from the 30/10/1950.
Regards Don
Just spoke to Brian Summers and they are his medals, he sold them when he was on strike during the miners strike of the 80's. Obviously times have changed and he is very keen to buy them back. If the bloke who is now in possession of them would telephone him direct on 01495 227549 he is very keen to talk to you.
What a great ending to this story -- Well done 13!
I have now spoken to Brian and if he wishes the return of the medals I am happy to oblige. Thanks for all your help.
As Gwyn Nicholas has stated another happy ending, well done 13.
Best Regards
