Re: The Road to Armageddon
A marvellous book indeed, and well produced. I enjoyed reading it. The description of the fighting at Ypres in October 1914 is thorough and supported by clear maps. One correction to jungle810's post: Col Cadogan did not witness the Chtistmas Truce. He was killed on 30th Oct 1914.
Re: The Road to Armageddon
Hello Baconwallah,
I stand corrected. I should know better as I was on the RWF Officers tour that re-enacted the xmas truce, the C/O at this time was Stockwell. Many thanks for your correction.

Re: The Road to Armageddon
Try Oliver de L Williams as CO.
Stockwell was OC 'A'

HI
I used to live just around the corner from Park Drive and assume the Book publisher is working from home as there are no shops on Park Drive. One of our old QM's lived on Park Drive, think it was Major Bounds (?) is there a connection
Re: The Road to Armageddon
I am reading this at the moment after purchasing a copy at the museum last week. Good so far but still only in India quite early on in his career.
