Someone teach the 2nd Lancs which way up our flag goes or are they in distress already
Look close, the top left part of the white St Andrews cross is thicker, it is the right way up.
It is OUR Welsh flag that is facing the wrong way!
Both of you are correct.
The UJ should have the wide white bar of the cross at the top corner closest to the flagpole when the flag is correctly hoisted on a flagpole (that white stripe down the right hand side is the bit that should be against the flagpole. Therefore the flag is, actually, upside down - sad!
With regard to the Griffin, again the white edge of the flag should be against the flagpole. If the guy at the top of the steps is the flagpole, and the wind is blowing right to left, the flag is the right way up. If the guy on the left is the flagpole AND the wind is blowing left to right AND the guy at the top let go to the flag then that WOULD be wrong, because the white edge of the flag would be furthest away from the flagpole.
The upshot is that the English regiment got it wrong! - am I allowed to say that?
My humble unqualified opinion. If you have a better one, put it up!

Wonder if their (2nd Lancs) Lt. Col Kenyon is any relation to the Capt."Toby" Kenyon of "D" Coy !st RWF around late 50s early 60"s. Would be a coincidence!!
Bob
Kept off my "soap box" over this 1 - didn't want to "throw the hand grenade in to the ammo dump"
Best Regards

Major Toby Kenyon was the Coy Comm. at Erskine Camp Hong Kong in 1970, he did have a brother(I assume it was his brother) serving with the Battalion in the early 50s, Lt E.A.M. Kenyon, Toby Kenyon is allways at the reunion, I have no futher comment.
