I have recently purchased a Queens South Africa Medal as part of my collection and it has the abbreviated rank SHG:-STH. Does any one know what it means? Both I and the Boss (PCK Rees) are totally baffled. Your help is appreciated.

It may have something to do with Sgt of the Horse(guards) or something? not sure mate. a bit of a way out guess really!
