Welcome to the May 2026 edition of the RHQ The Royal Welsh Newsletter.

This month’s edition reflects another busy and successful period across the Regiment, wider regimental family, and associated organisations. From operational deployments in Estonia and reflections on historic service in Iraq, to sporting success, adventurous training, reunions, and preparations for our 20th Anniversary celebrations, the strength of the Royal Welsh community continues to be evident across every area of activity.

A particular highlight this year remains the growing excitement surrounding the Royal Welsh 20th Anniversary celebrations, culminating in the “Party in the Park” event at Cardiff Castle this September. Interest in the event has already exceeded expectations, showing the strong connection among serving soldiers, veterans, cadets, families, and supporters.

This newsletter also highlights the continued professionalism and commitment of our deployed personnel on Operation CABRIT, the achievements of Royal Welsh sports teams and individuals, and the importance of maintaining strong regimental links through association events and commemorations.

Please also note that the RHQ PRI Shop is now open Tuesday to Thursday between 0800 and 1400 hrs.
