Last Post and Funeral Service - Mr Colin Baines

It is with deep regret that the regiment announces the death of Mr Colin Baines, Royal Welch Fusiliers, on Monday, 20th October 2025. He was 86 years old. Colin joined the Royal Welch Fusiliers in 1957 through National Service enlistment. During his service, he was posted to Cyprus, Germany, Hong Kong, and Northern Ireland. He left the Regiment in 1977 in Tidworth and supported the Battalion’s move from Tidworth to Lemgo, West Germany, whilst working in the Families Office.

The funeral will take place at 12 o’clock on 18th November 2025 at Pentrebychan Crematorium, Pentrebychan Road, Rhostyllen, Wrexham, LL14 4EP. Local Standard Bearers from the Regimental Association of The Royal Welsh are requested to attend and support if possible.

A reception will be held afterwards at The War Memorial Club, Wrexham, LL13 8DE. Members of the regimental family are welcome.

The thoughts and condolences of the entire regimental community are with Colin’s family and friends at this difficult time.
