Regimental reunions
Please see below a short letter from the Regimental Secretary, Lt Col Chris Kilmister.
I attended the Brecon Reunion last Saturday. A great occasion and everyone who was there really enjoyed themselves and it was a tribute to Captain Des Williams DCM and Judy Gater’s organisational skills.
But there were less than half the numbers that we regularly had pre-pandemic. I don’t know if this was because we have lost the habit or we are still nervous about Covid. There were several branches without a single member attending. Whatever the reason for this very poor turnout if we wish these occasions to continue then we MUST support them. If we don’t then they will simply become unviable and will cease. It will be then no good bleating because there will be no going back.
That was Brecon, the Wrexham Reunion which is planned for Saturday 3rd September has currently less than 12 signed up. The message is the same - RHQ will continue to plan and run these reunions if they are supported.
My message to you the Branch Secretaries is also simple – you must get your members to support Regimental functions like these or we will lose them.
Let’s turn this around for Wrexham this September and for Brecon for 2023.
My final point is "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass it's about learning how to dance in the rain".

Re: Regimental reunions
I traveled from Canada for the Brecon Reunion and it was a great success even with the low numbers.
