I see the Defence Review has been released. Army to be reduced by 9,500 to a total of approximately72,500, never since 1714 has our army been so low, only 148 Challenger tanks to be up graded the remainder scrapped, reduction to the RAF., where as the navy will have 2 more destroyer/frigates, bringing the fleet up to I believe 20. Not enough to provide protection for the fleet's aircraft carriers if both are at sea.
Whilst a number of cabinet members are stating that China may become the next militery problem, it is planned that to offset any aggressive moves by the Chinese we intend to send this year into the area 2 small patrol craft and in 2023 these two ships will be re-inforced by a unit of Royal Marines. Well that is the Chinese problem solved then.
The reduction in RAF., transport aircraft the report admits will cause logistical problems in the transport of troops and equipment. According to a government spokes person these reductions and reorganisation will make us "Match Fit".
