Mr Bruce Coombes & Mr Graham Webb
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of 2 of our comrades; Bruce Coombes and Graham Webb.
Bruce Coombes died on 4 April peacefully at home. Bruce was 94 years old. He would have been 95 on 9 April. Bruce had a magnificent war record having fought in the Battle of Evercy and the Liberation of S’Hertogenbosch. He was a long-time member and Branch President of the Carmarthen Branch of the Comrades Association. He carried the Branch Standard for very many years and was a regular attender over the years at the S’Hertogenbosch Liberation commemorations.
Graham Webb died on 3 April in hospital having suffered a fall and subsequently contracted and died of COVID-19. Mr Webb served in 1 Welch, then 5 Welch & 3 RRW. He was CSM C Coy then CSM HQ Coy. His wife Mary was the caretaker in the Pontypridd Drill Hall / TA Centre for many years.
Once the world returns to some form of normality, we will do something appropriate to honour their service and their passing.
Very best to you all
Chris
