An appeal for relatives is a search to locate the next of kin for soldiers who fell in war. Could you be connected to this Soldier?
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission and The Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre wish to contact the next of kin of Corporal Robert Owen Davies of 10th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers.
Robert Owen Davies was born in Manchester and was married to Margaret Elizabeth. He was killed in action on 20 July 1916 in Delville Wood.
Robert is commemorated on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s Thiepval Memorial. However, new research has shown that he is in fact buried in London Cemetery and Extension. A rededication service will take place at his graveside in June 2019.
If you are related to Corporal Davies, please contact our Commemorations Team.

Re: Appeal for Relatives of RWF Soldier.
We have his photo in the RWF Fallen gallery.
Clwyd Family History Society, in their War Memorials section, have him on the Brymbo War Memorial. The memorial itself only show R O Davies whilst others on it have full names.
Re: Appeal for Relatives of RWF Soldier.
The quality of the photo suggests that it not one of those found through newspaper trawls. (I don't know how to extract it to show on here)
I see now that CFHS also have him on on Llandrillo War Memorial where they have Robert Owen Davies 1 Berwyn Street.

Caveat: I'm assuming they have more info than that which is readily found in 'official records'

Re: Appeal for Relatives of RWF Soldier.
Thanks John
I think I'm right in saying that it seems better quality than the newspaper ones. There are a couple of forum members from that neck of the woods (Llandrillo area) that might have submitted it. I have PM'd one (Jules) but I'm can't recall the other properly, only that it's someone who is/was reseaching War Memorials in that area.
edit: He also seems to be linked to the Irlam are. I have passed details (via Facebook) to a researcher thataways called Pete Thomas.
Re: Appeal for Relatives of RWF Soldier.
Hywyn, John,
I did not realise he was mentioned on Brymbo Memorial. So I have posted it on Broughton History Group Facebook Page.
